Central Ohio Ghost Squad - COGS Investigates 'the Anchorage - Putnam Villa Mansion'
The COGS Team had the pleasure to Investigate the Anchorage - Putnam Villa Mansion in Marieta, Ohio. We were given a Wonderful Tour, and during the Tour, Shawni Shade, one of our Investigators had been touched, which caught us all off guard, and after the Tour we went about setting up our Gear. Our first Investigation was September 5th, 2008, Eliza Putnam had Died on September 9th and supposedly she appears looking out of her bedroom window on the Anniverary Date of her Death.
The Anchorage has twenty two rooms and a tower with a widow'a walk, it is going through Renovation by the Historical Society, During our Investigation some of the COGS Team Investigators had experienced touching, seeing Shadows, also a little black boy around nine or ten years of age. Ed, the COGS Founder had taken a Photo of what looked to be a Woman and a boy through a Mirror that was leaning against the wall in the second floor hall. We decided to Re-Investigate the Anchorage - Putnam Villa Mansion on November 15th, 2008, Ed was able to dismis the photo by duplicating the image from the first Investigation, Unfortunatly, the second Investigation was not as active as the first. We were not able to get any video, photo or evp evidence from either of our Investigations. this building has an Echo effect, anyone talking down the hall or on another floor can be heard, I believe that some are recording their own team members talking in the distance. Our Conclusion, Two Investigations, (Personal Experiences).

Twin City Opera House - McConnelsville
The COGS Team went to McConnelsville, Ohio to Investigate the Twin City Opera House July 26th, 2008. We were given a Fantastic Tour by Jon Keller, and afterwards setup our Gear to start our Investigation, We received our first evp while in the setup process of "What is your Name?" followed by "What are you doing?". The Opera House was built on the foundation of a burned down section of town, they call it the Burn District, the Corner Stone was placed in 1888, and completed in 1892. There used to be a Tunnel that ran underground between an adjacent Hotel that the Performers could use, but, was filled in and sealed to prevent cavein. We always do our Investigations with a Skeptical approach, Never basing our expectations on what others claim, but, allowing the Evidence to speak for itself. After the Investigation was completed and going through the Evidence, We Scheduled a Reveal with Adam Shriver - Executive Director of the Opera House on August 24th, 2008 on Stage with our Team Members in the Audience awaiting our Second Investigation to commence. So after the Reveal, we started our Investigation and were not disappointed, This was as prosporous as the first, We had a K11 session with Questions being Answered with "Yes" and "No" responces in the basement of the Opera House.
The Opera House has more than one Intellegent Inhabitants that will try to Communicate, everything from giving you their Name to Get-Out! This has to be one of the most exciting places that the COGS Team has Investigated so far. We ended up with twenty two evp, as well as Personal Experiences, Temperature Readings on four seperate Thermometers of 66.6, and a video of the K11 meter session for Evidence. The COGS Team has made this the Most Haunted Location in Ohio to date. We will be going back to the Opera House for a third Investigation on December 13th, 2008, with anticipation.

September 26th, 2008 We had the Good Pleasure of putting on a Presentation, as well as a Question and Answer Session with a Group of Wonderful Children from the 'Yes Club' Youth Group, located in Newark, Ohio, and followed up with a Ghost Hunt with a few of the kids. The Children had been discussing the various Ghost Hunting shows on TV, and so they contacted Eric Glosser, Our Team Director who is also located in the Newark area, and scheduled the time and date. When we arrived we were excited to see just how many of the kids were there for the Presentation.
They were also full of Questions. After the Presentation, We started the setting up operations with the Kids pitching in to get things rolling, they jumped right in. After the setup we went Lights out. We placed Equipment in their hands and they were absolutely great looking for EMF spikes and Cold spots, they were asking questions trying to get a responce. The Building was once used as a Nursing Home, as well as a Battered Mothers Facility, also it had a few deaths within it's past history, one of Our Team Members actually worked in the Building and said that strange things accured while she would be there, sometimes alone. We did have some unusual experiences while there, Mike, had his recorder pulled out of his hand, Eric had the hairs on the back of his leg pulled and fell into the closet door, one of the girls had been touched, and another had her hair rubbed. All in all, we left there after the Investigation just knowing that the Kids had a good time and experienced something to talk about for a long time. also before we left we gave them Our Movie, 'The Ghost of the Twin City Opera House'.

 Moonville Tunnel
The Moonville Tunnel located around the Lake Hope area has been listed as a Haunted attraction, so in October of 2007 the COGS Team decided to check this place out, We met up in Nelsonville, and then onto the Tunnel, We started Recording the Team walking back to the Tunnel across the Bridge from the Road at around midnite. We did not realize that we were not allowed in a State Forrest after 11:00pm, and there were people still in the location when we arrived, We were getting all kinds of activity as soon as we went on through the Tunnel and onto the other side. We were only Investigating this site when after about an hour into it we heard through a load speaker that if we were not out of the Tunnel that our vehicles would be towed, we tried to talk the Ranger into letting us continue with our Investigation, but he would not hear of it, and It was still to early, So we ended up going to Beech Grove Cemetery for the Rest of our Investigation. After the Investigation and going through the evidence we ended up with some very interesting photo's and some evp's which can be seen as well as heard on our web site. We decided that we would like to re-investigate the Tunnel again, this time we acquired the proper permission forms for an all nighter for October 4th, 2008. We also invited Marty Myers to join us from 'Lost and Found Ohio'.
This time we were getting K11 hits, evp's and some photo's, once we walked through the Tunnel, we decided to walk to the end of the path to another Trussle that crossed the crick, there is a beaver dam that crosses the crick, but we did not cross over, but rather stayed on this side of the crick and the K11 meter started responding to our Girls who were asking questions with responces. So, this Investigation was as prosporous as the first, we ended up with K11 hits, evp's, as well as photo's. So, between the two Investigations we have to claim the Moonville Tunnel as being true to the legend of being a Haunted attraction. It was a privilege to have Marty from 'Lost and Found Ohio' join our Investigation.
Probably the very first Case that was added to Our files of Investigations was that of the Famous 'Mudhouse Mansion' in Lancaster. A couple of the Investigators whose Names I will not disclose and before we actually formed COGS Investigated this facility for three nights, and after midnite. This Mansion is listed on the Internet as a place that is Haunted, and has a couple of different articles written about it, and each story is very Interesting to say the least. The owner of this piece of land has No Trespassing signs around the property, and from what I understand, will prosecute all violaters to the maximum the law will allow.
We have never went into an Investigation trying to prove a Haunting, we listen to the tales, urban legends, myths, and stories, but, we handle each case the same way, trying to disprove all of the hype that gets exagerated when people let their imaginations run wild, we base each case on the scientific approach, nightvision video, evp's, photo's, emf spikes and temperature readings to collect evidence of paranormal activity. I will confess that at night, this is an eerie, menacing sight to behold, and has all of the horror flicks that hollywood could conjure up coming to your mind as you approach this old building. With the Camera's flashing and the Video rolling, it's a real wonder that the guy's Investigating were not caught, you could see the Camera's flash from lake road light up the night. So after going through three nights worth of video, audio recordings, and photo's, and absolutly no personal experiences, we did not collect any proof of this fascinating old building being anthing other than old and fascinating. This case was the formation of the 'Central Ohio Ghost Squad - COGS'. just sitting around a table afterwards.
